ONLINE VEHICLE DONATIONS FOR CHARITY

Welcome to Online Vehicle Donations for Charity, one of the largest and most visited vehicle donation centres in Australia. This site is owned and managed by the Cerebral Palsy League, but also provides access to other not-for-profit organisations who accept donations of this nature.

Through this program you can donate your car, motorbike, bus, boat, truck, trailer or even jet ski to a charity who then sells or auctions the item. In either case your donation helps generate funds for your chosen charity, may provide you with a tax donation receipt and rids you of the dramas associated with disposing of the vehicle through other means.

A BIT ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Once you have completed and submitted a Donation Form, we contact you within seven working days to discuss collection. Generally we will provide a tow or tilt truck to collect the vehicle at no cost to you. The person collecting the vehicle will provide you a pickup receipt.

It normally takes about 21 days from you notifying us of your donation to the actual collection of the vehicle. The tow companies do try to ring and book in a time that suits all parties, but if you are not available to take the call this will extend the time line for collection.

We currently use Pickles Auctions to dispose of donated vehicles that are in good condition and running order (further information on their services is available at www.pickles.com.au). Within 28 days of collection we will provide you with a receipt for tax purposes if a successful sale/auction takes place. This receipt will be for the amount of the sale/auction price.

"I'm stunned and speechless!! Our car got $1000 at auction which is fantastic news and great for the charity!"
Beth and Ian, Brisbane

In some cases the vehicle may only have wrecking value. In this circumstance, if we choose to tow it to the wreckers and payment is made, the donation receipt will be for the amount paid by the wreckers for the vehicle.

The vehicle you wish to donate may or may not be functioning; what is important is that you have or are able to get clear title, meaning you own the vehicle. It is also important that the vehicle is not encumbered in anyway (owing money). We reserve the right to decline an offer without explanation and reserve the right to select the appropriate means of disposal, ensuring the best possible price is obtained.

For more information, check out our FAQs or call the Cerebral Palsy League on 1800 819 086.

AN EASY WAY TO DONATE

There are five easy steps to donate a vehicle to charity:

Step 1 Complete the Donation Form which will provide us with all the information we need to progress your gift. It is in this initial stage that you nominate your charity of choice.

Step 2 Once we receive your Donation Form, we will respond within seven days to discuss what options we have available to us and potentially organise a collection day and time suitable to you.

Step 3 When the carrier collects your vehicle, he/she will provide you with a Collection Receipt. This form acknowledges that we have collected the vehicle with your authority. You will be required to sign this form as authority for us to complete the transaction.

Step 4 The donated item will be delivered to the auction house for assessment along with the appropriate documentation to enable the vehicle to be disposed of. Once the item is sold, your nominated charity will advise you of the successful sale.

Step 5 In due course, which may be 28 days from collection, your nominated charity will issue you with a Donation Receipt for the amount of the sale.
