Once you have completed
and submitted a Donation Form, we contact you
within seven working days to discuss collection. Generally we will provide
a tow or tilt truck to collect the vehicle at no cost to you. The person
collecting the vehicle will provide you a pickup receipt.
It normally takes about 21 days from you notifying us of your donation
to the actual collection of the vehicle. The tow companies do try to
ring and book in a time that suits all parties, but if you are not available
to take the call this will extend the time line for collection.
We currently use Pickles Auctions to dispose of donated vehicles
that are in good condition and running order (further information on
their services is available at www.pickles.com.au).
Within 28 days of collection we will provide you with a receipt for
tax purposes if a successful sale/auction takes place. This receipt
will be for the amount of the sale/auction price.
"I'm
stunned and speechless!! Our car got $1000 at auction which is fantastic
news and great for the charity!"
Beth and Ian, Brisbane
In some cases the
vehicle may only have wrecking value. In this circumstance, if we choose
to tow it to the wreckers and payment is made, the donation receipt
will be for the amount paid by the wreckers for the vehicle.
The vehicle you wish to donate may or may not be functioning; what is
important is that you have or are able to get clear title, meaning you
own the vehicle. It is also important that the vehicle is not encumbered
in anyway (owing money). We reserve the right to decline an offer without
explanation and reserve the right to select the appropriate means of
disposal, ensuring the best possible price is obtained.
